Â Â Â Â Â Â Â Â HOLES begins with the main character of Stanley Yelnats, the superstar of the story being sent away to Camp car park Lake. One might ab initio think that this is a summer camp out for kids. Being poor, Stanley had never been to camp before. The ref soon dumbfounds out that Camp Green Lake is a camp for bad boys. Unfortunately, Stanley had been at the treat touch at the wrong time. He had been caught with a pair of sneakers from a famous athlete, pleasurable Fe et, who had donated the sneakers to be auctioned off for charity. Sachar begins to expose the reader to his type of pander from the beginning. For instance, Stanleys first and last names argon the same simply that his last name is spelled backwards.
We also find out that Stanley is named after his ancestors, so there is a round of ambiguity throughout the story; not kno bring home the bacong sometimes which Stanley the author is referring to. Â Â Â Â Â Â Â Â Stanleys ill luck is blamed upon his great-great- grandad. As a boy, his grandfather had fallen in love with Myra Menke. Her father only cared s lightly what a chaser could offer him and un! fortunately, Stanleys grandfather didnt have sufficient to offer to win Myras hand in marriage.
